Dr. Jennifer Walden is one of the most highly thought of plastic surgeons in the United States. Dr. Walden has been fascinated by the science of plastic surgery since an early age; she became attracted to surgery when an 8th-grade teacher remarked she had the hands of a surgeon. Dr. Walden is from a medical family, her father a dentist and mother a surgical nurse. Dr. Walden is a native of Austin, Texas where she attended Anderson High School before earning an undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Texas and her medical doctorate from the University of Texas, she was honored to be the salutatorian of her class.
After completing her residency Dr. Jennifer Walden applied for and obtained a fellowship in aesthetic surgery at a prestigious New York Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital Studying under the tutelage of Dr. Sherrell Aston, an internationally recognized teacher of cosmetic surgery. Dr. Walden continued to practice at the hospital for almost eight years, during this time Dr. Walden took part in clinical trials that eventually influenced the return of silicone breast implants.
In 2011, after giving birth to twins, Dr. Walden decided to go back to her hometown, Austin, and open a private practice in Westlake Hills; wanting her sons to be closer to the family. Even though she is very busy, Dr. Walden manages to devote much of her time to her children. Her home is near both her office and the boy’s school, and she employs a full-time nanny to make sure someone is always home in case of a medical emergency.
Dr. Walden is well known for developing and using advanced technologies, developing instruments for breast surgery, and serving as a consultant to leading aesthetic companies. She is noted for using Vectra, a technology that allows patients to visualize their appearance before deciding to have plastic surgery.
Harper’s Bazaar magazine in their April 2014 issue, selected Dr. Jennifer Walden as one of the top 24 Best Beauty Surgeons in the United States. Nominated by her peers for honors in publications like Texas Monthly, Harper’s Bazaar, and American Way. Walden is a frequent guest on television, appearing on The Fox News Channel, NBC’s The Today Show, and CBS’ The Early Show, to mention only a few.
