CCMP Capital’s Former President

Stephen Murray was an investor and philanthropist. He served as the chief executive officer and president of CCMP Capital. Murray earned his economics degree from Boston College in the year 1984. It is at this time that he joined Manufacturers Hanover Corporation. In the year 1989, he acquired his business administration master’s degree from Columbia Business School. It is at this time that he became part of MH Equity Corporation, an organization that combined the private equity group of Manufacturers Hanover. In 2005, Murray headed buyout business at JP Morgan Partners. Murray was the co-founder of CCMP Capital and in 2007; he became CEO of the organization. Murray also served on the board of directors of big organizations such as AMC entertainment, Aramark, Legacy Hospital Partners, Warner Chilcott, Cabela’s, The Vitamin Shoppe, Pinnacle Foods and Generac Power Systems. Murray was also a philanthropist and supported institutions such as Boston College( where he served as the vice chairman of the trustees board), Stamford Museum, Columbia Business School and Make-A-Wish Foundation (where he served as part of the chairman’s council). Stephen Murray passed away on March 12, 2015, may the Lord rest his soul in eternal peace.
